The one and only cousin
I have (my mother doesn't have any nephews or nieces).
James was born a healthy little chappie, but at the age of 10 was involved
in a horrific road accident in which a car driver knocked him off his bike.
After this event he lapsed into a coma and was nearly declared dead by the
doctors.
However before they turned off his life-support machine they saw him blink
and this made them wait a while.
A good job they did because he made a recovery, he made the papers as the
miracle boy.
The down-side was that the accident had left him paralysed down one side and
partially brain damaged.
James is certainly not a stupid bloke though and keeps very active - he used
to always walk around for miles. He's recently had to use a little scooter
to get around with.
My cousin is great and I used to make him laugh loads when I was little by
either saying silly things or taking the mickey out of him - in fact I still
do when I saw him last!
